ilvana Mallia is a metal clay artist. She creates her designs primarily in bronze and silver. All her work is handcrafted employing a combination of clay modelling, texturing and kiln-firing, as well as basic traditional metalsmithing techniques. Silvana is self-taught, and has commenced this journey into metal clay in 2012. Her jewellery is mostly bespoke, one-of-a-kind pieces, or limited editions, influenced mainly by nature and Maltese heritage. She infuses her work with bits of nature, like pressed flowers in resin or beach pebbles, while also utilizing delicate Maltese lace for texture, or wire crochet elements.
