Michael Muscat is the third generation of the Muscat honey producers. He has been keeping bees and harvesting the prestigious Maltese honey for over 50 years. Michael has over a hundred colonies in apiaries in six different localities around the islands. Besides the knowledge acquired through handling and observing bees, he has successfully completed with distinction a one-year evening course on beekeeping at MCAST, and was also awarded for his in efforts in promoting the traditional craft of beekeeping. Michael has also given lectures and demonstrations in beekeeping courses held by Friends of the Earth and the Malta Beekeepers Association.
