Chamo-me FRANCLIM PÁSCOA CAETANO. Nasci em 17 de Dezembro de 1955, na freguesia de Mazouco - Freixo de Espada à Cinta. A cerâmica começou a fazer parte do meu quotidiano, por influência da profissão de professor que exerci, durante 39 anos. Dos vários materiais com que trabalhava nas aulas de TM, EVT, ET e CERÂMICA, com os alunos, o barro, foi aquele que mais me fascinou, desde sempre. Contudo, embora desde cedo tenha começado a modelar, foi a partir de 1989, que iniciei a minha segunda atividade, que coexistiu com a de professor até 2014, ano em que decidi rescindir o meu contrato com o Ministério da Educação, para me dedicar exclusivamente à cerâmica. As minhas peças abarcam um vasto conjunto temático, desde os motivos religiosos e mitológicos, passando pelo património arquitetónico, sobretudo casas típicas, até aos temas etnográficos (representando as várias profissões). O meu trabalho pode ser visto permanentemente no meu Atelier, situado no cruzamento de Aldeias (estrada da serra, GOUVEIA - TORRE, em pleno PARQUE NATURAL DA SERRA DA ESTRELA). NOTA: todas as peças são únicas e executadas integralmente à mão, pelas técnicas do rolo e placa. Em seguida sofrem uma secagem controlada. Depois são decoradas seguindo os processos da decoração cerâmica, com engobes e ou vidros. Por fim vão ao forno a uma temperatura que oscila entre os 1000 e os 1050 graus.
My name is FRANCLIM PÁSCOA CAETANO. I was born on December 17, 1955, in the parish of Mazouco - Freixo de Espada à Cinta. Ceramics began to be part of my daily life, influenced by the teaching profession that I exercised for 39 years. Of the various materials I worked with in the TM, EVT, ET and CERAMIC classes with the students, clay was the one that fascinated me the most, ever since. However, although I started to model from an early age, it was from 1989 onwards that I started my second activity, which coexisted with that of a teacher until 2014, the year in which I decided to terminate my contract with the Ministry of Education, to dedicate myself exclusively to ceramics. My pieces cover a wide range of themes, from religious and mythological motifs, to architectural heritage, especially typical houses, to ethnographic themes (representing various professions). My work can be seen permanently in my Atelier, located at the crossroads of Aldeias (road da Serra, GOUVEIA - TORRE, in the NATURAL PARK OF SERRA DA ESTRELA). NOTE: all the pieces are unique and entirely hand-made using the roller and plate techniques. They then undergo controlled drying. Then they are decorated following the processes of ceramic decoration, with engobes and/or glass. Finally, they go into the oven at a temperature that ranges from 1000 to 1050 degrees.
