Nato a Ortigia, Siracusa, nel 1959, si è formato a Milano. Dagli anni del liceo artistico ha inizio un susseguirsi di esperienze lavorative che coincidono con la sua vocazione eclettica, inquietudine espressiva che alterna creatività volta alle arti applicate e dedizione alla scrittura. Aiuto costumista per cinema e scenografo in ambito pubblicitario, disegnatore di elementi d’arredo e realizzatore di collezioni di gioielli, pittore e scultore, autore di testi musicali e di poesie: tutte esperienze che dal 1996 confluiscono in una avventura artistica totalizzante. In quell’anno, per sperimentare la creatività davvero libera da ogni forma di condizionamento e dipendenza, lascia Milano ritirandosi per tre anni nella terra e nel mare delle sue origini. Lì a sud, nei boschi lavici dell’ Etna e difronte al mare mitologico di Stromboli ha lavorato al progetto Artistico “ALTARI MEDITERRANEI: Il pellegrinaggio degli amanti impossibili” in cui si intrecciano pittura, scultura e scrittura. Nel 1999, si conclude quella tap pa esistenziale di lunga esperienza sabbatica. Negli anni successivi si alternano periodi di necessario ritorno a Nord per attingere sostentamento dalla professione, e un altrettanto necessario ritorno a Sud per approfondire la sua ricerca espressiva che sempre più si caratterizza di spirito antropologico e si orienta specificamente al tema del Mediterraneo. Nel 2000, dopo lunga caparbia ricerca di opportunità istituzionali per far conoscere il proprio lavoro artistico, si presentano le prime opportunità espositive, i primi riconoscimenti . Il suo lavoro viene citato nel volume “Arte e cultura del Mediterraneo nel xx° secolo” curato dall’Unesco nel 2004. From the years of art high school, a succession of work experiences began that coincided with his eclectic vocation, an expressive restlessness that alternated creativity aimed at the applied arts and dedication to writing. Assistant costume designer for cinema and set designer in the advertising sector, designer of furnishing elements and creator of jewelery collections, painter and sculptor, author of musical lyrics and poems: all experiences that since 1996 have come together in an all-encompassing artistic adventure. In that year, to experience creativity truly free from any form of conditioning and dependence, he left Milan, retreating for three years to the land and sea of his origins. There to the south, in the lava woods of Etna and in front of the mythological sea of Stromboli, he worked on the artistic project "MEDITERRANEAN ALTARS: The pilgrimage of impossible lovers" in which painting, sculpture and writing intertwine. In 1999, that existential stage of a long sabbatical experience ended. In the following years, periods of necessary return to the North to draw sustenance from the profession alternate with an equally necessary return to the South to deepen his expressive research which is increasingly characterized by an anthropological spirit and is specifically oriented towards the theme of the Mediterranean. In 2000, after a long stubborn search for institutional opportunities to make his artistic work known, the first exhibition opportunities and the first recognitions arose. His work is cited in the volume "Art and culture of the Mediterranean in the 20th century" edited by UNESCO in 2004.
