Born in 1946 in Rabat, Malta, Paul Galea spent his childhood years in the rural environment that surrounded his native town. Out of his deep love for the Maltese landscape grew a determination to record its splendour and to capture its light, shapes, and colours through art. As he matured as an artist, he refined his raw talent at the School of Art in Msida and the School of Art and Design in Valletta, with his appreciation for the beauty that may be found in practically anything around us growing and serving as the main inspiration for his works. Ranging from miniatures to stage scenes, his portfolio is vast and explores many subjects, with his favourites being the hidden gems that often go unnoticed in our daily rush from one thing to another, whether urban or rural landscapes, streetscapes, or seascapes. Executed in different media but mainly in oils and acrylics, his works have been exhibited in a large number of exhibitions and can be found in numerous private collections, both locally and abroad.
