Tara Lois is an international award-winning designer and jeweller, whose work has featured in leading fashion magazines including Vogue and Vanity Fair. She trained in traditional jewellery making in London, with the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths, as well as with a Master in filigree jewellery in Gozo, Malta. She also has a degree in contemporary jewellery design from one of the world's top 1% Colleges of Art & Design. Tara's designs are always emotional and modern, with a hint of Malta. She creates 1 limited collection of unique jewellery every year, typically using contemporary Maltese filigree, inspired by the beautiful landscape of Gozo and the surrounding Mediterranean Sea. This jewellery is exhibited in international galleries throughout the year. Most of her time is spent on individual commissions for custom-made luxury jewellery. Her clients appreciate how her designs carry deep emotional and personal meaning, as well as her aesthetic, which is her desire that her work always bears proof that she hand-crafts it at her bench. She specialises in sustainable jewellery and, in particular, redesigning with heirloom jewellery, which is usually tucked away in a box, and remodelling it into a new, wearable and contemporary pieces, fit for the 21st century and beyond. Her clients are based worldwide from Hawaii to Australia, thanks to video meetings and a trustworthy shipping partner. Although, of course, she is always delighted to welcome clients to her studio and design in person, if they come to Malta.
