Gaetano Saliba is an artisan who manufactures handmade silver filigree jewellery. He inherited a 100-year long Maltese tradition in his family business, and in 1989 founded a company known as Saliba’s Gold & Silversmith. Nowadays, Gaetano is one of the last remaining artisans in the Maltese islands who make filigree from raw materials, and he also supplies other artisans with materials and services. He aims to keep the filigree craft alive and directs his biggest efforts towards bringing Maltese heritage closer to people. His policy is to locally produce high quality, affordable items and to have something for everyone’s budget.
